Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago [PATT] has engaged Progressive Recruitment Specialists Limited [PRSL] over the past two (2) years to support its Executive Search Process for the selection of Senior Roles: including General Manager/CEO, Executive Manager – HR, Senior Legal Officer and eight (8) other roles.

The process has always been efficiently managed by the experienced team of Pasha, Navindra, Carolyn, Shalini, Kaffi and Natalie. It is very evident that they always follow a tried and tested methodology as outlined in their proposal. In addition, they always worked in the PATT’s best interest to attract, qualify and engage with the most suitably qualified and experienced candidate for the role. This process involved the advertising of the role in the Press and on JobsTT, mapping of the market using their bespoke database, and LinkedIn, and qualifying of the longlist to provide PAIT with a shortlist of relevant and interested persons who were then interviewed formally by the PATT Board. Selected persons were then sent forward to undertake Psychometric Assessment and Reference Checking, the results of which informed the PAIT’s official decision-making process relevant to the preferred candidate.

The PRSL team are always on point with their timeliness, attention to detail and advice. They are also very flexible and amenable to the challenges of changing agendas and priorities inherent in dealing with a State Enterprise.

Progressive Recruitment Specialists Limited [PRSL] was engaged by TTBS in September 2021 to support the Executive Search for the selection of its new Executive Director.

The process was efficiently managed by their team if Navindra, Carolyn, Shalini, Kaffi and Arlene. In keeping with an efficient methodology, as outlined in their proposal, PRSL worked with the Bureau’s best interest in mind to attract, qualify, and engage the most suitable candidates for the role.

This involved the advertising of the role in the Press and on JobsTT, and mapping of the market using their bespoke database, and LinkedIn.

The team also undertook a dynamic and transparent process – using our criteria- comprising interpersonal interviews of the longlist to provide us with 11 top candid. These candidates would then have been further assessed via competency-based interviews supported and chaired by PRSL, leading to the top 7 candidates for Psychometric Assessment.

The team at PRSL was cognizant of the Bureau’s needs and were quite flexible to incorporate additional steps to satisfy Board Members’ concerns. These included post-psychometric assessments, a Case Study, and additional psychometric interviews for clarification supporting a rigorous screening process.

Most critical to our managed expectations was the timeliness and transparency utilized and open communication with PRSL. The Bureau had tight deadlines [including some internal process delays] with the impending contract end. PRSL delivered and completed the process in a total of three (3) months, delivery an exceptional candidate for our Executive Director role.

Process

PRJG ensure they have a thorough understanding of exactly what is required of the candidate by discussing technical and soft skills required with the relevant line manager recruiting for the position. As a result, they are able to discover subtleties of the vacancy, which cannot be written in a job description.

Using this information, they then assess similar positions within other organizations, often called by different names and reporting into different structures. They headhunt relevant candidates and qualify them according to the KPI’s and experience confirmed with us. All candidates submitted to us have been referenced with a line manager that the candidate reported to in a previous role. This ensures that all candidates submitted are if a certain caliber. Together with each candidates’ CV, PRJG send us a summary of their screening together with notes on their reference check. This process saves us time, because in addition to their CV, we receive information relevant to the candidate’s experience tailored to our vacancy.

Results

PRJG consultants have also been involved, when requested, in the negotiating/closing stages of the process and on boarding of the successful candidate. I can confirm that the candidates introduced by PRJG that have successfully filled our vacancies have worked out very well.

We recently engaged Progressive Recruitment Specialists Ltd (PRSL) to outsource between 25-30 warehouse attendants, forklift drivers and supervisors. PRSL runs a fortnightly payroll for most of these workers and provides a dedicated HR resource to manage administration of payslips and job letters as well as support with regards to any disciplinary and grievance matters. PRSL has also provided a pool of additional workers when we need to replace or add to the shift as needed.
